The first event of the 2012 Clifden Pony Show weeklong festival took place on Sunday August 5 with the selection of the show queen. This year it was decided to bring back the winners and some of the runners up from the previous ten years and call it the queen of queens. Galway Bay FM presenter Ollie Turner was MC for the night. A packed Station House Hotel Theatre was the venue. The winner announced just before midnight was the 2003 winner Patricia Dooley from Laois. Patricia is a music and dance teacher in Ennistymon, Co. Clare.
